The History of Gentle Care Animal Hospital
Dr. Marguerite Ermeling opened Gentle Care Animal Hospital in 1986. Her intention was to create a full-service veterinary hospital that would meet all the needs of small animal companions under one roof. With an advanced knowledge of reptiles, exotics, birds, and wildlife, she was able to fill the need for these unique veterinary services in the northeastern region of the state.
Gentle Care Animal Hospital was created to offer a wide range of veterinary services: preventive care, wellness exams, internal medicine, pet surgery, and dental care. In addition to customary services, Gentle Care offers a blend of traditional and integrative veterinary medicine to meet the need of every patient and owner.
Gentle Care also offers both medical and general pet boarding exclusively to their current clients and is one of only a few animal care facilities to provide its own 24-hour emergency care, handled by staff veterinarians. Dr. Ermeling’s vision was not limited to excellence in the care of pets: the Gentle Care owner education program was designed to support every pet owner through all the stages of their pets’ lives.
